Slightly Twisted

Slightly Twisted…I think that sums things up nicely.

I’ve been missing in action for a very long time, and I apologize for that.  As some of you know, my life took a huge twist the day the phone rang asking my husband and me if we were still interested in adoption.  We answered with a resounding YES!  The rest is history—a very happy, hectic history.

Our daughter is now eighteen months old and a total joy.  She’s walking, talking, running and getting into most anything she can.  In other words, we’ve entered the world of toddlerhood.

I spend my days playing, reading, singing, dancing and trying to keep up with the most beautiful baby around. (completely unbiased mommy opinion—lol)

At the same time, my writing career has taken a twist into romantic suspense.  I’m loving the intricacies of plotting both a suspense plot and a romance plot, but these days finding actual writing time is the biggest mystery of all!

I haven’t given up on romantic comedy.  As a matter of fact, I miss it!  You never know what twist this next year might bring.  Stay tuned.  Maybe—just maybe—comedy will be part of my writing career again someday soon.

So hang in there with me as I kick things back into gear.  During the past year, I’ve been amazingly lucky to have four new Harlequin Intrigues issued.  This coming year brings a Christmas novella in It’s A Wonderful Christmas, along with stories by the very talented Jasmine Cresswell and Colleen Collins.  I’ll have information posted on my website very soon—keep checking.

Next spring brings my first series for Harlequin Intrigue—The Body Hunters!  Look for Vanished, Silenced and Shattered, coming in April, May and June of 2008.  I am SO excited to share these stories and plan to add all sorts of fun features to my website in anticipation of the series launch.

In the meantime, you’ll be able to find me here—perhaps not every day—but I’ll shoot for two or three blogs each week.  Chances are my ramblings will be full of thoughts on how to find more time in each day, how to function on less sleep and which power drink really gives you the best kick…but that’s just me.

Until next time, Happy Reading!!  Thanks for stopping by.

Time flies...

  • Mood:

…when you’re a new mommy.

So, the last time I blogged--many, many months ago (sorry!)--I was yammering on and on about the construction of our new addition, which, by the way, is gorgeous. Well, little did I know that my "reading" room would morph into a playroom for our new daughter.

Elizabeth Anne (Annie) was born in late January, coming into our lives with less than two weeks notice. Matter of fact, the phone call came the day after my last blog, and I was at her birthmother’s side, holding her hand, as Annie was delivered via c-section.

My husband and I had waited for four years in the hope that someday we’d be able to adopt. Thanks to a wonderful woman who chose to place her daughter with us, we’re now the proud parents of an amazing little girl who is the light of our lives.

Here I am on Mother’s Day. A bit happy looking, don’t you think?

The past six months have flown by, and while I’ve been keeping up with my writing (barely), I certainly disappeared off the radar screen online. That being said, I’m going to attempt to kick things back into gear now that I have this new mommy thing completely under control. (That was a joke, by the way…ha ha)

My next four Intrigues are lined up and just about ready to go, starting this September with Without A Doubt. Some cover, eh?

I’m thrilled to be writing a book in an upcoming Intrigue continuity set in Colorado, and I’ve been asked to be part of a Christmas 2007 anthology with Jasmine Cresswell. To say I’m honored by both of these developments would be a major understatement. So, things are busy, and I’ll be catching you up with everything that’s going on.

For now, I’ve got to run. Annie’s learning to crawl and I can see things are about to change…again. LOL

Happy reading and warmest wishes!
